Join the Find Your Path - Virtual Walk/Run

Get fit, win prizes, and help students in need!

Spring training is here! We are excited to share that Promising Pathways Scholarship is hosting its second annual Find Your Path ~ Virtual Walk/Run. Starting on April 3, which is National Walking Day, choose your favorite path and walk or run 1, 3, or 5 miles any day and time that is best for you by April 30. You could even set a goal to walk or run every week (for 3 miles, for example) during this timeframe and submit your best time. Or work your way up from running 1 mile to 3 miles by the end of the month. Sign up for one event or receive a discount for even more. Invite your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to join...family walk, anyone? (One way to get the teens to hang out with you!)

Prizes:

When the challenge ends on April 30, we will be awarding four $50 gift cards from Amazon, Target, or Starbucks, which are companies that offer college tuition assistance to their employees. The prizes will be distributed as follows:

  1. All participants will be entered in two random drawings for a $50 gift card.

  2. The 12 winners with the fastest walking and running times in each category (and by gender) will be entered in a random drawing for another $50 gift card.

  3. Participants who share the walk/run registration link on social media along with their favorite walking/running path photos (or the images in our sharing toolkit) and the hashtag #findyourpathwalkrun will be entered in a random drawing for another $50 gift card. Participants will receive one entry for each share on social media; thus the more one shares, the greater the chance of winning!

More about Promising Pathways Scholarships:

Promising Pathways Scholarships is managed by the Seamone family and awards $2000 scholarships and free career coaching services to low-income students who are single parents or who are hard of hearing, and are enrolled in technical programs, two-year undergraduate degrees, or four-year undergraduate degrees. The aim of the funds and career coaching services is to help students facing additional financial and other barriers to complete their degrees. Higher education is considered the most reliable and promising pathway to long-term economic security as well as other positive outcomes for individuals and their families (including higher earnings, improved health and well-being, benefits for dependent children, and reduction in need for public assistance). Ultimately postsecondary education leads to work with livable and sustainable wages and helps to break the cycle of poverty.

These scholarships are hosted on Bold.org’s platform, which is a secure, online scholarship service that matches students to thousands of scholarships based on the students’ profiles. They streamline and manage the process for both the applicants and scholarship providers; they also distribute the scholarship funds directly to the winners’ schools.

We hope you can join us and help students build financially stable, secure, and promising futures for themselves and their families. Together we can make a difference!
